Walking

Newcourt Farm is an environmental farm situated in the Brecon Beacons National Park with The Black Mountains easily accessible from our Orchard Campsite. You can follow paths from the orchard through the forestry, or take a stroll along our single track road for approximately 2 miles and you will find yourself on the foothills.

For the keen walkers there are pleasant routes to Craswell where The Bulls Head Pub can be found which serves excellent home cooking. The other direction, and not so far, is The Castle Inn at Pengenfford.

There are a good selection of footpaths as well as easy access to the long distance Offa’s Dyke Path.

There are Fantastic views of Hay Bluff and The Twmpa, the more energetic can walk to the top! If you pefer a more leisurely pace you can drive a short distance from Hay along a single track road and this will bring you to the base of Hay Bluff from where you can enjoy spectacular views of The Brecon Beacons National Park,Radnorshire and Herefordshire.

Activities

As well as horse riding from our Farm, there is the opportunity locally to have a go at Canoeing, Abseiling, Cycling , Rope Climbing, Swimming, Gliding and even have a go at clay pigeon shooting.

This small town is internationally famous as “The Town Of Books” and is a short drive from our Orchard Campsite (4 miles). Parking here is inexpensive and there are also free places on the roadside.

The Guardian Hay Festival is an annual event held in early summer when famous writers, politicians, poets, musicians and comedians visit the town.
There is Hay Castle to explore, exclusive shops to visit and a supermarket.

Brecon

A bustling market town Brecon is a 15 minute drive away on an easy route through Talgarth, along a new bypass and straight to the town.
It is slightly larger than Hay with a supermarket and leisure centre.
The Brecon Jazz Festival is always a popular annual event usually held in August and well worth a visit. ( Box Office 01874 625557).

Builth Wells

The Royal Welsh Show is held annually at Builth Showground towards the end of July. It is an extravaganza of demonstrations, agriculture, displays and livestock. Half an hour drive from our Orchard Campsite along a picturesque route, camping or bringing your caravan could provide the ideal base from which to enjoy the four day festival.
